Julie Howard
Dr. Julie Howard is an independent consultant specializing in food and agricultural systems in sub-Saharan Africa. She is a Senior Adviser at the Center for Strategic and International Studies and a Director at the World Vegetable Center, where she chairs the Nominations and Governance Committee. She co-chairs the Agriculture and Rural Development Working Group of the Scaling Community of Practice. Howard previously served as Chief Scientist at USAID’s Bureau for Food Security and was CEO of the Partnership to Cut Hunger and Poverty in Africa. She holds a PhD in Agricultural Economics from Michigan State University.
